Amy Shields

July 30, 1983 — April 12, 2016

Amy Joe Shields, of Marietta, Ohio, formerly of Masury, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 12, 2016, while in the Emergency Room of Marietta Memorial Hospital. She was 32.

Amy was born July 30, 1983, in Sharon, Pennsylvania, a daughter to Joseph E. & Janice A. (Sinopoli) Sabol.

She graduated in 2001 from Brookfield High School, where she played flute, saxophone, and bassoon in the Marching Band. In addition, she ran track too. Amy furthered her education by receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education as well as a Master’s Degree in Music Performance & Conducting, both from Youngstown State University. She was a member of the Sigma Alpha Iota fraternity and the Ohio Music Education Association.

Her education landed her as the music teacher for Fort Frye Local School District, Beverly, Ohio.

In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting, camping, boating, and she loved water-skiing. However, most important to her was spending time with her children.

She is survived by: her father, Joseph, Masury; her husband, Eric T. Shields, whom she married June 27, 2008; her sons, Connor M. & Christopher B. Shields, both of home; her sister, Danielle Sabol, Lumberton, North Carolina; and her extended family too.

She was preceded in death by her mother; by her paternal grandmother, Pauline Sabol; and by her maternal grandmother, Eva Sinopoli.

A time of gathering to honor Amy’s life will be held on Friday, April 22, 2016, from 5-8 PM in the Brookfield Fire Hall, 774 State Route 7, Brookfield, Ohio 44403.
